Quantum Fluctuations in the Small Fabry–Perot Interferometer

نویسندگان

چکیده

Spectra of the small Fabry–Perot interferometer (FPI) size order wavelength, with main mode excited by a quantum field from nano–LED or laser, are investigated. The input is detuned FPI only few photons. We formulate convenient model for interacting field, and provide novel explicit expressions photon number fluctuation spectra inside outside FPI, clearly identified contributions classical noise. As result, we found structures quite different fluctuations transmitted reflected fields note asymmetries in spectra. noise colored (or white) outside) which explains differences another calculate second-order time auto–correlation functions field; they oscillate negative under certain conditions. Results will help study, design, manufacture, use elements optical integrated circuits, such as delay lines transistors.

Quantum fluctuations in small lasers.

The dominant role of quantum fluctuations in determining the steady-state and transient response of a laser is demonstrated when there is a small number of particles in the system. In this regime, quantum fluctuations are found to suppress the lasing threshold and create a non-Poisson probability distribution for n discrete excited electronic states and s discrete photons. The correlation betwe...

Quantum fluctuations in very small laser diodes

Quantum fluctuations play a critical role in determining the steady-state and transient response of a laser when there is a small number of particles in the system. These fluctuations, and the fact that a lowest energy state of the system exists, can suppress lasing and enhance spontaneous emission around threshold. Dynamic switching between two characteristic system states can dominate the flu...

The quantum-optical Josephson interferometer

The photon-blockade effect, where nonlinearities at the single-photon level alter the quantum statistics of light emitted from a cavity1, has been observed in cavity quantum electrodynamics experiments with atomic2,3 and solid-state systems4–8. Motivated by the success of single-cavity quantum electrodynamics experiments, the focus has recently shifted to the exploration of the rich physics pro...

Fluctuations in the Quantum Vacuum

We argue that it is a fluctuational underpinning of the Quantum vacuum which on the one hand gives a stochastic character to the conservation laws, and on the other is required for explaining the recently observed acceleration of the universe. This also provides us with the arrow of time, in a consistent cosmology.

Quantum fluctuations in the mazer

Quantum fluctuations in the mazer are considered, arising either from the atomic motion or from the quantized intracavity field. Analytical results, for both the meza and the hyperbolic secant mode profile, predict for example an attenuation of tunneling resonances due to such fluctuations. The case of a Gaussian mode profile is studied numerically using a wave packet propagation approach. The ...
